How to read your BodyGraph
The BodyGraph is the map of your energy: centres, channels and gates that show how you are wired and how you relate. Here is what the shapes mean and the colours we use in Impronta.
Personality and Design
Every chart comes from two distinct calculations. Each colour tells a different part of you.

The conscious part: the mind and what you recognise as «you». It is calculated for the exact moment of birth.

The unconscious, bodily part: the traits that act through you without your noticing. It is calculated about three months before birth.
Defined and undefined
The centres are the large blocks of energy. Each one can be switched on (defined) or open (undefined).
Defined
Steady, always-available energy: a consistent way of working that you can rely on.
Undefined
An open space: here you absorb and amplify the energy of those around you. It is where you learn and grow wise, and where it is easiest to be conditioned.
Gates and Channels
The 64 gates are the individual switches of the chart. When two complementary gates light up, one at each end, they form a channel that joins two centres and defines them. Gates follow the two layers too: cream for Personality, rust for Design, gold when they coincide.
Hanging gates and channels
Sometimes a gate lights up in you but its partner is missing, so the channel stays half-formed. That «hanging» gate pulses violet and keeps its own colour (cream for Personality, rust for Design, gold for both), while the channel it could form appears as a violet dashed line.
When a transit in the sky, or another person's imprint, lights the missing gate, the channel completes for a moment: that is the Echo, the living, daily layer of your BodyGraph.
The five Types
Everyone belongs to one of the five energy Types. In Impronta each Type has its own colour, you'll find it on your profile, in the charts and on the map.
