The 6 Lines
Every gate is a hexagram of six lines. Each line is a different way of living that energy, from seeking foundations to the wisdom of the Role Model.
The six line profiles
Line 1: the Investigator
The first Line seeks solid foundations. It is the energy of those who want to understand deeply, study, and build security through knowledge. On Line 1 days attention naturally goes to the basics: researching, gathering information, feeling prepared before acting. It is a good time to dig deep and ground yourself.
Line 2: the Hermit
The second Line has a natural gift that emerges in solitude and quiet. It is the energy of those who need their own space for their talent to bloom, and who are often called out by others precisely when they would rather be alone. On Line 2 days it can be precious to allow yourself moments of retreat and to trust what comes spontaneously.
Line 3: the Martyr
The third Line learns through trial and error. It is the energy of experimentation: trying, failing, discovering what works through direct experience. On Line 3 days the unexpected and the changes of course are not failures but discoveries. It is a good time to take risks, knowing that every mistake carries knowledge no book can give.
Line 4: the Opportunist
The fourth Line builds through relationships and the network of people close by. It is the energy of bonds, of friendship, of opportunities that come through the people we know. On Line 4 days human connections are central: sharing, nurturing relationships, letting chances arise from contact with others.
Line 5: the Heretic
The fifth Line brings practical solutions and is often seen as a guide by others. It is the energy of those who know how to step in when needed, but also of those who carry projections and expectations. On Line 5 days there is the chance to be useful and to leave a concrete impact, while staying aware of what others project.
Line 6: the Role Model
The sixth Line is an example that inspires through its own life. It moves through three phases of growth and, once mature, becomes a point of reference for others. On Line 6 days the energy invites observation, wisdom and authenticity: embodying what you believe rather than proving it with words.
The wheel of hexagrams
Every gate corresponds to a hexagram. All 64 together form the wheel of the Mandala.
